[OOC] Random Facts Meme
Certain headcanon facts came into play in the Amatsuki chan the other night, so I figured I should probably do this at some point.



• Using his powers too much will cause him to pretty much drop where he stands. It's gotten to the point where he can usually anticipate when it's going to happen and make sure that he's in a safe place, but aside from that there's nothing he can do about. When he finally wakes up from those "naps," he often has a splitting headache. That's why he's so grumpy afterwards-- it's more than just him not being a morning person.

• Assuming there's nothing major that needs his attention, he treats these headaches with liberal application of sake.

• Despite his flippant and vain attitude, Bonten rules Heaven's Seat with an iron fist. Many ayakashi have never accepted his rule, both because of his very humble beginnings and because of the rumors that still persist that he arranged for Byakuroku's death. He reacts to this by making sure no one has anything to complain about-- and if that means taking away their ability to complain, so be it.

• Relatedly, he doesn't pretend to feel anything but animosity for the Yakou and his manipulations of the ayakashi. However, he tries to keep his rebellious actions against Teiten mostly under wraps. Teiten knows Bonten's no fan of his, and Bonten knows he knows, but for now they've managed to sort of smile politely and pretend neither of those facts exist.

• He gets along with humans better than ayakashi, in general. They may be stupid and content to fail to notice anything that doesn't fit their tiny little worldviews, but they're so interesting.

• Though it's sort of interesting to take on someone else's form, it starts to almost itch if he stays in it for too long. Nothing ever quite matches up exactly the way it should until he returns to his own body.

• While he enjoys certain aspects of the real world, he much prefers Edo. He can't understand why humans who have so much technology and opportunities available to them manage to be so much less alive than their Edo counterparts.

• It will surprise no one that Ginshu took Bonten's virginity. Since then, though, he's actually only had sex with one other person. Said person was a human male whose faintly mocking smile and elegance of movement reminded him almost painfully of Ginshu. It was a one night stand. Bonten never learned his name, nor did he have any desire to.

• Every so often he still gets phantom sensations from his wings. Generally, he tries to ignore it. This is why he still has his wings in his pocket dimensions, though; he doesn't consciously think about making them appear most of the time, but it just feels like they should be there, so they are.

• Bonten is perfectly aware of the fact that both his personality and his power-induced narcolepsy make him incapable of functioning entirely on his own. He hates this fact, but he takes a practical approach to it-- hence the creation of Utsubushi.

• He got the idea for the lip piercing from the real world. Like most aspects of his appearance, it's purposefully cultivated to be as striking as possible. In addition to being vain, Bonten wants to make a impression on everyone he meets, and a lasting one at that.
